Game on

Here we go - the beginning of the Nail It magazine 30 day nail art challenge. I have always wanted to complete a nail art challenge but just never actually DID it so, here goes.
Day 2 was 'moons' - I went for the classic half moon nails. They are an interesting and not too challenging design using Essie - Mint Candy Apple, a glorious polish.
I have seen lots of nail bloggers doing half moons with negative space - so obviously had to give it a go. I must say I'm not too sure on it yet. I think it takes some getting used to because it is a different look.
I added some of my Born Pretty Store gems to jazz up the design a bit more. I also think it makes the moon line softer.
The more I look at these nails, the more I like them however, they will be off by tomorrow!
There is a dent in my middle finger - I must have caught it with a razor. Us girls and our random problems in day to day life!
I look forward to what tomorrows design brings.
Happy saturday.

Pastel tuesdays

Iphone camera pictures only.
I keep seeing pastel ombre nails online and they are my favourite! I was hoping mine to be the same but unfortunately these aren't my favourite.
I used: Sally Hansen nail strengthener for the base (didn't have OPI with me) OPI - My boyfriend scales walls, Barry M - Berry ice cream, Essie - Mint Candy Apple, Essie - Fiji and Sally Hansen - UV top coat.
I really like the idea here but it just didn't turn out right for me.
First, bubbles!! Why the bubbles?! My white OPI never does this, I'm thinking it's because I let them dry in the sun for about an hour, could this be why?
I'm not sure on the colours used, I did set out to use a fourth colour but it didn't come out too good so I stuck to the three.
I'm not usually a Barry M fan, I only have a few of their polishes but it works really well on the ombre, shows up well on white so I liked it for this.
The next time I try this - which will be in the next month I expect. I want to get a pastel yellow, test out the colours more and maybe add some studs to it.
I didn't have my Nikon with me today so these pictures will have to do, which isn't too upsetting because the bubbles aren't too much on show!
I won't be posting for a few days because I have an exam friday but will be back shortly!

Glitter craze

I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long! First my camera cable broke, then my mac broke and took 2 weeks to fix! This was a simple holiday mani for my trip to Budapest using Essie: Mint Candy Apple and Set In Stone.
I am now back on track and have a really exciting swatch coming up next few days!
Thanks for sticking with me - much blogging love.

Nail Caviar

Warning: sadly taken with an iPhone, see below post!

First time trying Bourjois Paris toppings and coupled with Essie - Mint Candy Apple, it definitely works together! I can't stop touching the beads they are really cool. they lasted pretty well too without any glue!
My flatmates did good with this as a birthday present! They also got me the pinky coloured one too, so I will be trying that very soon. I wonder if anyone has made a pattern with their beads? I might give it a go.
florals coming up soon - spring is finally here!
