Matte in the nude

 So this week is deadline week, I needed something low key so it didn't distract me. Yes this is true, don't pretend great nails don't distract you! 

For this mani I used; OPI - Nail Envy, MAC - Style tip, Sally Hansen big matte top coat and Essie - Set in stones.

This MAC nude has slightly pink undertones so I wasn't sure of at first because I have quite a pale skin tone but the matte makes it look great! 

I've seen matte nude floating around Instagram and loved some of the mani's I saw but disliked others. I had to try it for myself. At first I wasn't convinced but then I added some glitter and they really grew on me. 

My nails are all a bit of a funny shape/length at the moment but I would say this matte nude looks a lot better on slightly longer nails. 

It's so classy and goes with literally any outfit. If you're going to have a stressful week at Uni, you might as well have nice nails doing so.

Ps... The cut on my little finger is because I scratched myself. Square shaped nails can be dangerous.

I'll be doing IBD Just Gel tomorrow ready for my weekend away.

Snowflake Solitaire

I'm in love.

Recreated from @stylethosenails - It caught my eye on instagram because it's such a pretty mani. 

Polishes used were; OPI Natural base, MAC - Frosty much adored, OPI liquid sand - Solitaire, Sinful Colors - Snow me white and Essie - Good to go. Also added some tiny beads for the centre of the snowflakes.

Liquid sand it one of my favourite and this time I tried sponging it on which worked so much better than painting, it gave way better coverage.

The snowflakes are hand painted, I'm trying to up my skill in the hand painting area because some nails bloggers out there have mad skill...which I strive towards!  

I absolutely adore this mani, it's so festive without being over the top (like most christmas nails) (but we still love them) 

Apologies for not painting my thumb (which you probably didn't realise until I pointed it out) it was going through a bit of repair so I didn't paint it.

Disney

 For such a long time I have wanted to try out disney nails so... here they are!

They are definitely not perfect but were so much fun to do. For the base coat I used MAC - cream (I think this is the name, it wasn't very clear!) For the rest I used acrylic paints. I really like using acrylic paints, they are so much easier than trying to do nail art with normal polish. I am wanting to get more skill doing more complex designs but this is a start. 

The eyes and eyebrows were the trickiest part for me. It either makes the nail look cute or evil.

Can you guess which each character is? 

I want to try and do a Frozen themed design. I have seen so many floating about the internet, I feel as if I should give it a go! 

I put a picture of the base colour below. I don't really like nudes (unless they are very pink nudes) I guess they are just too plain for me. But nevertheless, it is a really pretty nude. 

I won't be posting anything too interesting for the next couple days as I am off home from uni and can't lug my polishes on the train! But...

Hopefully more acrylic designs to come in the next few weeks.
